Did you know that Mainz is less than 100 km away from the geographical centre of the European Union? Mainz is the capital of the province of Rhineland-Palatinate, known for the beautiful Rhine valley and world-famous wines – it is the home of Riesling, after all. Oh, and Mainz has been high-tech for centuries: it was Mainz where Johannes Gutenberg created the first printing press, and it was Mainz where the first mRNA vaccine for COVID-19 was recently developed and sold under the BioNTech and Pfizer brands. At the same time, Mainz is in the centre of the Frankfurt-Rhein-Main metropolitan region, only a few kilometres from the Frankfurt Airport, which makes it one of the most accessible places on the planet.
The European Cloud Summit fully honours Mainz’s European tradition and heritage, and Mainz’s affinity to high tech. Our language is English, and our attendees are coming from all over Europe – mainly from DACH countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), BENELUX countries (Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg), Nordics (Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Norway), UK and Poland, but also from many other European and non-European countries. Our speakers and sponsors are coming from 18 different countries. Welcome to Mainz, the high-tech centre of Europe from 26–28 September 2022.
